1. The station was situated between the two villages of Calbourne and Shalfleet. Following the closure of Newport Station after the Southern Railway took over the line the wood and corrugated iron ticket office was moved from Newport to Calbourne. The station has a 160' single line siding serving a small goods yard at the back of the platform. Although officially known as Calbourne & Shalfleet the signs indicate that the station was also just known as Calbourne.
