Located on the downs are a collection of 24 barrows, consisting of a long barrow measuring 34.7 metres in length and 0.9 metres in height, with an east-west orientation. Additionally, there are 17 bowl barrows, 4 bell barrows, and 2 disc barrows, one of which coincides with the location of the golf course. A particular barrow has garnered archaeological attention and is believed to originate from the Bronze Age.
The excavation of the site took place in 1817, during which no significant findings were uncovered in the long barrow. However, many instances of cremations were discovered within the round barrows.
