On June 7, 1994, a Havoc A-20 experiencing engine difficulties was compelled to make an emergency landing at Ashey Racecourse. The aircraft sustained minor damage and was flown out from the same field after a brief period of repair.

The A-20 Havoc prototype first flew in 1938. It was the first United States military aircraft with a nose propeller. Numerous air forces, including those of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and the Soviet Union, sued the manufacturer over the lease-lend aircraft.
