Bembridge Fort Allan Williams Turret 1

The Allan Williams Turret was designed to house all types of light weapons: Bren, Lewis, Boys, Hotchkiss & Browning and to give some cover to the man who was using it.

The turret, two doors, a lid, and a ring The whole Turret was made out of a circular wall buried into the ground and topped with a steel dome on rollers. The two-man crew may manually spin the Turret to face the adversary and fire from a hatch in the side or the roof. Brackets for the Bren and Lewis anti-aircraft machine guns, as well as the Boys anti-tank rifle, were given.
