Torpedoed and sunk in 1918.
A British commercial ship with a defensive arm of 2,871grt, ISLEWORTH SS. She was carrying 4,200 tonnes of iron ore from Bilboa to Middleborough when the German submarine UC-17 attacked and sank her without notice on April 30, 1918, 3 miles southwest of Ventnor Pier on the Isle of Wight.
Sadly thirty-nine people were killed.
