Shanklin Railway Station is the southernmost terminus on the island railway that is still in use as a railway today.

The Shanklin Railway Station is the island’s southernmost terminal and the operating station that is located the furthest away from the Ryde Pier Head.

Previoulsy Ventnor was the station that held this distinction. However, the Ventnor Train Station as were several other stations shut down, and no loner opertaional . One of the platforms was dismantled and turned into a flower bed. Additionally, the tunnel that connected the platforms was filled in so that passengers could no longer access it.
