Simeon Street Tram Stop

The tram tracks (installed in 1871) that started at Ryde Esplanade, went onto St. John’s Station with a stop at Simeon Street, ran directly through a house in the Strand. This was to avoid tram tracks running through Cornwall Street.  A stream ran under the road, which would not have supported the tram’s weight as a result.

The actual poistion of the tram stop is not known at this time so a subjective guess has been taken.
